WELCOME TO THE CARTOON WORLD OF "KIRT TOONS" Welcome to my world of art and cartoons. My style is a direct homage to the golden age of British print, rooted in the newspaper strips and the classic children's comics of the 1970s and '80s. This classic grounding informs everything I draw, from my weekly webcomic to my illustrations. My fascination with the medium started young: I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember, originally copying characters like the UK's Dennis the Menace and Popeye. My oldest surviving piece holds special significance—it was published in The Dandy Comic in 1981 when I was ten, earning me 'Star Letter' and a prize jigsaw!
I believe the greatest cartoonist to ever live is the late, great Leo Baxendale, whose genius defined several generations of cartooning. I also draw energy from timeless animation like classic Warner Bros. shorts, through to the sharper humour of modern shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy. What I Produce |
