WELCOME TO THE CARTOON WORLD OF "KIRT TOONS"

Welcome to my world of art and cartoons. My style is a direct homage to the golden age of British print, rooted in the newspaper strips and the classic children's comics of the 1970s and '80s. This classic grounding informs everything I draw, from my weekly webcomic to my illustrations.

My fascination with the medium started young: I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember, originally copying characters like the UK's Dennis the Menace and Popeye. My oldest surviving piece holds special significance—it was published in The Dandy Comic in 1981 when I was ten, earning me 'Star Letter' and a prize jigsaw!

Star Letter

I believe the greatest cartoonist to ever live is the late, great Leo Baxendale, whose genius defined several generations of cartooning. I also draw energy from timeless animation like classic Warner Bros. shorts, through to the sharper humour of modern shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy.

What I Produce

webcomics

I release a weekly webcomic featuring an exaggerated, slightly ridiculous version of myself. I also regularly illustrate blog posts across this site. Beyond the blog, I'm available for commissioned work, having previously created various print jobs including party invitations and posters.

PORTFOLIO...

Being someone who can draw means I get asked to create work for others. I've done wedding and party invites, created characters for marketing purposes and various other projects.
